Sex Offense Specific Treatment

Kandor provides sex offense specific treatment grounded in theories of criminal deterrence and utilizes evidenced based approaches for treating juveniles and adults with a history of sexual offending behaviors. The modality of treatment includes group therapy and individual treatment planning sessions to meet individual needs and promote healthy integration into the community. In treatment, clients focus on identifying and replacing maladaptive cognitive patterns that supported the offending behavior and creating a plan to live a healthy lifestyle.

Risk Evaluations

Through advanced knowledge and experience in clinical and forensic psychology, Kandor conducts risk evaluations to assess an individual’s level of risk to themselves and to the community.

The Psychosexual Evaluation includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive psychosocial background requiring an interview focused on gathering information across all major areas of functioning (such as family, work, medical, social, etc.), review of pertinent records/documents, interviewing collateral contacts, and use of assessments to aid in the assessment of risk for sexual reoffending. It will involve the production of a report, not covered by insurance, containing specialized information regarding sexual history and level of risk.

The Assessment of Risk for Violence Evaluation includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive psychosocial background requiring an interview focused on gathering information across all major areas of functioning (such as family, work, medical, social, etc.), review of pertinent records/documents, interviewing collateral contacts, and use of assessments to aid in the evaluation of risk for violence. It will involve the production of a report, not covered by insurance, containing specialized information regarding history of violence and aggression as well as level of risk.

    Forensic Mental Health Evaluations

    Application of actuarial assessments and clinical judgement to evaluate potential risk to the community and provide recommendations for treatment to assist the court in decision making.

  • Mental Health & Substance Abuse Assessment and Treatment

    Provide mental health and substance abuse assessment and treatment services for individuals required by the terms of their probation to obtain an assessment and comply with recommendations for treatment.

    Therapy Targeted to First Responders and Law Enforcement

    Strategies for individual therapy are rooted in an understanding of the challenges, stressors, and risk factors, associated with being a first responder or law enforcement officer in the community.
